27th Annual Show Preparations Well Underway

With three months still to go to this year’s show, we are pleased to say that entries are flowing in and numbers at this stage are once again encouraging, both two- and four-wheel entries are ahead of this time last year. We are also expecting an increase in the number of local “Classic Car Clubs being represented by official club stands, with entries from Boston, Grantham, Heckington, Mid Lincs Rover and Spalding. It is great to see these local clubs supporting our show and I am sure they will have plenty of information about their respective activities and meetings throughout the year and should you wish to become more involved, details of how you can join one of these excellent organisations.

The oldest car entry we have to date is a local car, not seen before at the show. This 1938 Morris 8 “side valve” resides only a few miles away from our show venue, keep your eyes open during the summer and you may catch sight of it on the local roads.

Last year we had a truly fantastic display by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight’s Lancaster Bomber and we are pleased to announce that, subject to weather conditions, the Lancaster will be making a welcome return. Live entertainment will again be provided by local band Sticky Fingers.

Improvements for the 2019 Show

As always, we seek the opinions of all who visit our show, entrants, sponsors and visitors alike, are encouraged to tell us what we do well and what we do not so well. This enables us to make informed changes in the organisation and presentation of the day.

In response to that feedback we have looked to improve the variety of catering we can deliver on site. So, alongside our “traditional” offer of Dave’s Ices, the very excellent teas, cakes and sandwiches that Nanny’s Hamper unfailingly deliver and the succulent bacon butties, hot dogs and burgers provided by the Sleaford Lions.  This year we have three new vendors, The Silver Coffee Pod offering a range of drinks including fresh coffee, hot chocolate and specialist teas. The Pink Potato Pod provide delicious jacket potatoes with a range of fillings including vegetarian options and Surpise, who have a range of gourmet pies and sausage rolls, with a variety of tasty and unusual fillings, handmade within five miles of the show site. We hope that this will provide entrants, and visitors alike, with a much wider choice within the constrains of space that we have at our disposal. For more information on our catering suppliers please follow the appropriate links on the “advertising banner” at the bottom of our web page

As previously reported, we have made changes to the vehicle entry classes for this year’s show (Latest News January 2019).

As our preparations continue over the next three months, we hope that you will have an enjoyable time and make the most of, what will hopefully be, a long and (not too) hot summer. Whether you are out driving your classic motor, enjoying time with the family, relaxing at home or taking that much needed holiday. Or indeed all of the above, make a note of the 7th September in your diary and if you want to participate, don’t forget to send in that entry form. We look forward to seeing you all at the show.
