Sleaford Classic Car and Motorcycle Show Makes a Successful Return in 2021
After the bitter disappointment in having to cancel the 2020 show due to the corona virus pandemic it was with great pleasure that we were able to return to Lafford Terrace and put on a fantastic show for 2021. It was very obvious by the volume of entries, the number of visitors and the cheerful demeanor of all present that we had all missed our gatherings together to discuss all things classic.
The weather was kind to us with just a few spots of light rain in the morning which turned into a pleasant, largely sunny afternoon in which we were all able to spend time looking at the very wide range of classic cars and motorcycles on display. We were very pleased to see many old friends returning with their pride and joy, but it was also good to see many new faces too, which bodes well for the future of our show. Towards the end of the show the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight’s Spitfire once again gave us a fantastic display and provided a fitting end to a great day.

Due to the many uncertainties, when faced with ongoing restrictions, whilst we were planning the show this year, trophies were awarded for Best Car, Best Motorcycle and Best Club Stand only instead of individual class winners. The judging of these being undertaken by members of the committee. Our regular Paul Weeks and George Allen “Memorial Trophies” were also awarded as chosen by the families of both George and Paul on the day
The recipients of these awards were:
Best Car in Show: Andrew Davies 1961 Austin Mini Mk1
Best Motorcycle in Show: Brian Chambers 1974 Yamaha RD 350
Best Club Stand: Boston Classic Car Club
Paul Weeks: Robert Garbutt 1977 Ford Capri 3000 Mk1
George Allen: Ray Meggett 1923 BSA L23
Our thanks go out to those who volunteered to help with marshalling and show set up and all who attended the show in any capacity which helped make the work involved in putting the show together so worthwhile.
We must give a very special thanks to the members of Heckington Auto Club for their invaluable help in placing and parking of vehicles at the start of the day and for their continued help throughout the show, this was very much appreciated by all involved.
We look forward to doing it all again on Saturday 3rd September 2022. Remember to save the date!
